| Eco-Trek: Elephant Camp To Muthati |

Trek-in-brief: Conducted by the Cauvery wildlife division of the Karnataka forest department, this is a one day trek. Starts at the elephant camp near the cauvery fishing camp of Jungle lodges and resorts. Next you reach the peak of Soligere hill in the Basavanabetta hill range. You will now be at 1125 mts above mean sea level. Standing at such an elevation, you will be able to see an aerial view of many landmarks like the Shimsha and Shivanasamudram hydel projects. Descending from the peak you will reach Soligeri village. On reaching destination at Muthathi you can visit the famous Hanumantharaya temple.
Difficulty level: Difficult
Must watch or know about:
- The view from the Soligeri peak, which is a memorable one
- Elephants in herds and some unique flora
- The beautiful hill range and the river Cauvery flowing through the valleys of these hills
Route details:
Elephant camp - Soligeri hill - Soligeri village - Bennane - Muthathi
Schedule:
Start at 8:00AM from elephant camp and a trek for about five hours will take you to Muthathi. From Muthathi, back to elephant camp or visit the Hanumantharaya temple at Muthathi or other places of interest like Mekedatu etc.

Total distance to be trekked: 25 kms

How to reach Elephant Camp (the start point):
From Bangalore: Travel to Bheemeshwari via Kanakapura, Sathanur and Muthathi by bus - 100 kms
From Mysore: Travel to Bheemeshwari via Halagur and Malavalli by bus - 90 kms
How to depart from Muthati (the end point):
To Mysore: Travel via Halagur and Malavalli by bus - 90 kms
To Bangalore: Travel via Sathanur, Kanakapura by bus - 100 kms
